I had received several mailers from 5 Star Dental in South Holland, Il. Each mailer offered discounts and FREE teeth whitening services. I called on 3 seperate occassions to ask questions about the whitening, the cleanliness of the facility, the Dentist etc. After a couple of months I decided to give them a try. I called made an appointment and confirmed I could get my teeth whitening treatment. They asked me to bring in the coupon which I did. I arrived filled out the paperwork, both the receptionist and blond hygienist were at the front desk. The spoke but I wouldn't say it was welcoming although the receptionist was smiling and a bit more pleasant. It was a decent facility, but I don't like carpet and cloth in any medical facility do to the germs and bacteria thats held in the fibers. Anyway I received xrays more than any dental office has ever taken which they said if my insurance didn't cover them not to worry they wouldn't charge me. I received the quickest cleaning I've ever received and there was minimal conversation and no real questions or comments about my teeth and health of my teeth and gums other than floss. Im a ice chewer and teeth grinder neither the hygienist or the dentist Ms. Amy addressed these issues! Ms. Amy the actual Dentist I met for all if 5 minutes. She had a smile on her face but it didn't feel genuine to me. She said she saw something on the xray where I had previous work done. She gave me a referral to a specialist to check it out...seriously...no thanks. Before I left I once again inquired about my teeth whitening the receptionist not the hygienist not the dentist told me they didn't have it available in the office. I would have to come back but no specific date when they would have it available. They had to have known prior to starting my services this makes me believe they're a disingenuous company. I didn't feel a personal interest was there as a patient/consumer. I felt that it was a huge waste of my time and my insurance companies money. I will NOT be returning nor making any referrals. I was thoroughly disappointed!
Ironically they call themselves 5 Star, but they get 1 star from me. First, tho the hygienist is great! No issues there. Initially I really liked this dentist office until they completely screwed up my mouth. I'm not going to name the dentist because it wasn't intentional. Essentially I was left with a really bad uneven bite that has created a host of issues. I went in to have silver filling replaced with white. I went back twice to have adjustments done since then, to only make matters even worse. Now, the uneven bite has caused really bad sensitivity to anything hot, cold or sweet. Even worse, because the bite is off I find that my tongue is now being used to act as a buffer between my molars to keep me from grinding my teeth when sleeping. So I bought a night guard but I hate it and it doesn't work well. The kicker is one of my molars on the opposite side is now loose from grinding and bleeding excessively when I brush. I haven't had a good nights sleep in weeks. Suffice it to say, I won't be returning to this office. I now have to find someone who can fix all these problems because I'm miserable.
They took over my old dentist. First experience was awful. They filled a couple of cavities and told me that I needed more work done. I didn't trust them so I left and went to another dentist. Since I left the 2 cavities that I had filled have since had to be fixed because they screwed them up. My entire family has had similar experiences with them. Seems like they are just hunting for more money.
I am not a fan of the Dentist, but the service I received was so awesome! I made an appointment for next week to complete some more work! I have already recommend them to my friends! Thank you for making me feel so comfortable!
Best service ever.. I ask lots of question and they where very patient with me and answered my questions... they also provided with great resources. The staff are amazing and welcoming. The staff were very attentive to all questions or concerns. The environment is nice and clean. I was able to schedule my next visit before I left.
