These people are the worst what ever you do use someone else
Let's see... where to start?? I guess first things first. When I initially signed up with them, the sales lady gave me a referral discount from one of her other accounts. She applied their discount to my account. Since that other account was who referred me, I found out months later that he never received his referral discount... because the rep, Sherry Lesniewski, applied it to my account. I should have seen the disaster that was coming. A couple years later, I did an equipment upgrade because the equipment they gave me malfunctioned. They didn't replace it, they forced me into a contract renewal to get new equipment because my terminal "was obsolete and could not be replaced".... Upon that renewal, they explained the terms of the lease to me as a lease to own contract. After all, they let me keep the old terminal upon my renewal so why would I think otherwise? Fast forward 2 years- I changed merchants because I had switched to an online scheduling software that automatically billed and charged clients and included card processing as part of the software. I had to cancel my lease with Retriever but first had to send in my cancellation notice 3 different times. Finally, that stopped but I was continually billed a 'lease agreement charge' for the actual terminal itself that was NOT through Retriever. I was told when I signed up that the purpose of Retriever was basically a "one-stop shop" and that all obligations were contracted through them. The problem here is that the contracts are so heavy with legal jargon that I when I asked specific questions to clarify things, I was given wrong information. Realistically, it isn't feasible to get a lawyer to consult you on every single little thing when you run a business so you just trust your account rep to know certain things. I learned a lesson there. Well, that contract ran through Oct. 2017 and, as was explained to me by Brittany in the South Holland office in 2015, once that contract expired the payments would stop automatically. Wrong again. I had to call today to stop the payment but first had to pay a $250 equipment fee for the equipment that obviously was not owned by me upon completion of the contract. I didn't need the terminal and it was explained to me that I WOULD NOT HAVE TO RETURN IT by Sherry and Brittany so I got rid of it.Be sure to consult a lawyer when you deal with them because it's obvious nobody know what the hell they're doing over there.
Been trying for 2 years to cancel account. I call, leave a message, nothing happens. Again, again, and again. 2 years. Billed every month! Crazy.
Never have I been treated so rudely in my own shop. Mike Lipuma was beyond rude. What a jerk! I wouldn't even look at this company after the treatment I was shown. If they contact you, take my advice and throw them out of your business!
Stay away from them. Salesman lies to get a sale and is a real snake in the grass. Customer service stinks. People are extremely rude when you try to talk to them. They do not call back. They try to stick you with a 4 year non-cancellable lease for a $139 credit card machine that is a piece of junk.
